rescue

The Washington State Scottish Terrier Club Rescue was formed to assist in the rescue and placement of abandoned or unwanted Scottish Terriers from individual owners, humane societies, veterinary clinics, animal shelters and Scotties who are homeless. To protect rescued Scotties, Washington State Scottish Terrier Club Rescue attempts to place rescued Scotties as home companions withf suitable owners, who agree to care for and protect their rescued Scottie, and to share their home with the same consideration they would give a family member.

policy
The Washington State Scottish Terrier Club began rescuing Scottish Terriers in the mid 1980's and continues to render assistance to unwanted, abused and neglected dogs.. The club strives to match dogs to good and caring homes as a nonprofit service to the community. Each dog is fully vaccinated, spayed/neutered, crate trained, and free of parasites. Because of these veterinary expenses, the club requests a $200.00 donation for placement of a rescued dog in a good home, but may decrease or waive the donation depending on circumstances.

Our latest placement
Mackie is a young Scottie that needed a new home. Her previous owner was unable to keep her due to being in an assisted living center. Mackie was used to many people feeding her and developed into a Super-Sized Scottie. A couple in the Tri-Cities area had requested a Rescue Scottie and did not have any priorities; just a Scottie . They had always had a Scottie in their home. Mackie needed a fenced yard and the couple always walked their Scotties. Upon visiting their home Mackie took to the couple like she had always been in the household. She has squirrels to chase to help her exercise program. She came when she was called and settled at their feet where she felt welcomed into her new home.
